Pedro pitches 3 scoreless innings in debut

Pedro Martinez allowed 1 hit and 1 walk in 3 innings. He said that if his toe feels like it does today for the rest of the season, it’ll be great because he didnt feel much pain today.

His custom spikes and the gel pads worked. His toe “hurt a lot less than it did the second half [last year],” he said. “I’ll pitch like this all year. If I feel like this all year, forget about it. I’ll pitch.”

Everyone was impressed and at the same time it was a sigh of relief, because I was worrying that he wouldn’t be that ready for the beginning of the season.

Since he’s behind schedule, he’s going to pitch on the Mets third game of the season, while Tom Glavine will pitch opening day.
today the Mets beat the Orioles 8-0

–ONE WEEK UNTIL OPENING DAY!–
