Mets get Oliver Perez, take back Roberto Hernandez, ship Nady to Pittsburgh

August 3, 2006

Roberto Hernandez who was surprisingly great for the Mets last year, comes back, because the Mets needed another bullpen pitcher since Duaner Sanchez was hurt in a Taxi accident and is done for the year. Roberto Hernandez hasn’t been that great this year but the Mets were saying the same when they got him last year as a non roster spring training invitee. Nady was a pretty big loss, but the Mets sent up Lastings Milledge from AAA Norfolk, sent down Pelfrey, and now it right field, it looks like Endy Chavez and Lastings Milledge will take turns until someone starts to do better.

Mets finish their series with the Marlins today…
