Down 24-7, Giants Shock Eagles in OT

September 18, 2006

After trailing 24-7, the Giants looked like they had NO chance to come back to this game. But wrong. They came back and used all the energy they had to tie the game after Manning threw the ball up, and it just happened to be Tim Carter in the area… the Giants then used Jay Feely to boost a FG to put them into overtime with 7 seconds remaining in regulation. After that, the Giants recieved the ball, punted, got the ball back, drove down and scored with somewhere around 3 minutes to go, they scored a TD pass on a rainbow throw by Eli into Plaxico Burress’ hands.

POSITIVES AND NEGATIVES
POSITIVE: Amani Toomer earlier in the game had two TD catches

NEGATIVE:Tiki Barber was stopped by the Eagles defense nearly every single
time he was handed the ball.

NOTE: The Giants linebackers were all somehow hurt sometime in the game.
I noticed Emmons, Pierce, and Mr. Nickels all down sometime in the game.
They should, though, be alright.

POSITIVE: Sinorice Moss caught his first pass in the NFL.

POSITIVE: Feagles did a great job of punting.

NEGATIVE: Giants offensive line allowed EIGHT sacks of Eli Manning.

NEGATIVE: The Giants defense just left the Eagles WR wide open too
many times for scores.

NEGATIVE: Both Colts and Eagles converted too many 3rd down con-
versions than usual.
Coming Up: GIANTS (1-1) AT SEAHAWKS (2-0), Then Giants BYE week.
