PostGame: Mets beat Brewers 5-4

May 11, 2007

The Mets were able to beat the team with the best record in baseball, the Brewers with a solid start from Jorge Sosa. Sosa, called up from AAA during the D-Backs series, has two wins in two starts filling in for El Duque, who is progressing with his rehab. Despite three homers, the Mets were able to close out the game, 5-4 with a 6-pitch Wagner save (9). The Mets hit great themselves, as they scored five runs on a Wright two-run HR, a Delgado opposite field HR, a Lo Duca single to drive in Alou after HE hit a double, and finally, the deciding run in the game, Easley hit a HR in the 7th inning.

Next: The Mets continue their 10 days at Shea and a three game series with the Rockies tomorrow and Sunday, both starting at 1:10 PM.
