Pedro Great in Rehab Start
Pedro Martinez made what is most likely his second to last rehab start yesterday for Single-A Port St. Lucie. It was a great start. He keeps getting better with every start he makes. Here are the results:
6.0 IP, 5 H, 0 ER, 1 R, 2 BB, 4 K
Everyone expects Pedro to make another rehab start, this time in the same place, since according to Pedro and the Mets, it doesn’t matter who he pitches against, but what matters more is that he works on his command.
“It doesn’t make any difference for me to throw in Double-A or Triple-A over what I’m doing now,” Martinez said. “It’s more about me getting command of my pitches than who I’m facing. Anyway, whatever happens in these games, you won’t find the numbers on the back of any baseball cards.”
Pedro Martinez should be back in the Mets rotation within about a week or two.
