Scouting this week’s opponent: The Green Bay Packers

January 14, 2008 · Filed Under Giants, This Week's Giants Game

The Green Bay Packers are a very talented football team, and they’ve come a looong way since last season when they were 8-8. Their WR corp is amazing now, and all Brett Favre has to do is take two steps back and gun it to them on a slant pass. It’s almost guaranteed they will break tackles and get plenty of yards after catch.

Ryan Grant, who the Giants let go as a nobody, was picked up by the Packers because they thought he might be of somewhat use. I guess so. Last week he ran all over the Seattle defense and he’s had some of the NFL’s most rushing yards since mid-season. This is a guy to be afraid of.

If the Giants D-Line puts pressure on Brett Favre, I expect he’ll have a hard time, and I don’t care who you are, if it is under 10 degrees, it’s not going to be an easy thing to throw the ball to a WR down the field when you’re getting hit hard.
