Mets Injury Update

March 8, 2008

Several key players on the Mets were back today and slotted in the lineup for the game against the Marlins. Ryan Church, who was in a collision in early March, returned and hit fourth. Endy Chavez, slotted in at Beltran’s home, center field, was back and hit sixth. Damion Easley was also back in the lineup.

This is what the Mets need, and with Moises Alou out until May, they need as much help as they can get. Still, there is plenty of time, and everyone seems to panic. I’ve even heard people say “WE’RE AROUND THE MIDDLE OF MARCH AND THE METS DON’T EVEN HAVE STARTERS PLAYING YET!”

Middle of March? That would be another full week away. The Mets are about a quarter of the way through camp, but maybe a little more, I’m not the math whiz here. I may not know math well, but I do know that we are not halfway through Spring Training yet.
