NL East Watch: Glavine hurt, Phils error again, and Marlins lose

April 13, 2008

In the shortest start of his career, former Met Tom Glavine left the game with a strained hamstring after 16 pitches as the Braves lost to the Washington Nationals today, 5-4. Glavine is listed as day-to-day.

The Philadelphia Phillies, who lost their recent series to the Mets mainly because of errors, were back at it again. The Phils lost to the Chicago Cubs in extra innings today, 6-5. Second baseman Chase Utley made a throwing error that scored Ronny Cedeno.

The first-place Florida Marlins lost today to the Houston Astros, 5-1.
