Matt’s Bio

Matt Tracy is currently a student majoring in Sport Media at Ithaca College. He began MattTracy.com in the summer of 2005 as the first exclusive Mets and Giants blog on the web. This blog has since changed its focus towards covering a wide variety of topics and issues in sports while still covering the Mets and Giants.

Matt has contributed to Baseball Youth magazine and has interviewed several baseball stars including David Wright, Moises Alou, Endy Chavez, John Maine, and Keith Hernandez. Matt worked for The Daily Star, a daily newspaper in central New York, where he wrote stories for publication and was responsible for laying out and completing the scoreboard page. He also contributed to Baseball the Magazine and has contributed to GiantsFootballBlog.com., one of the few blogs affiliated with SportsNet New York’s blog network. Matt is currently the Women’s Golf beat writer for The Ithacan, Ithaca College’s award-winning newspaper. Matt has been involved in radio and was a sportscaster on Ithaca College’s VIC Radio station. Most recently he has been writing for Buzzsaw magazine, an Ithaca College publication.

Additionally, he served as the color commentator for Cooperstown All-Star Village’s live webcasts during Championship Games each week of the summer in 2010 and 2011. Matt also hosted the pre-game show during these broadcasts, interviewing players and coaches, such as former major league catcher Andy Allanson.

Aside from pursuing his journalistic dreams, Matt enjoys aviation and is working toward his Private Pilot’s License.
