Giants NAIL 'Skins 36-0

Final: Giants 36, Redskins 0 Giants move to 5-2 on the year, and keep 1st place in the NFC East

Tiki Barber vs. Redskins

This game was important for the Giants to win for a few reasons. 1, to win it for Wellington Mara who just died this week, 2, keep first place, and 3, to beat their divisional rivals. Tiki Barber had a GREAT game. He had 206 rushing yards, including a 50+ yard run to start the game. The NFL’s 31st ranked defense held the Redskins to ZERO points on the day. Joe Gibbs has never been shut out in his career in the regular season, and the one shutout he got was in January of 1987 against the Giants in the NFC Championship Game. The Giants never let the Redskins cross the 50 yard line for the whole entire first half. If I had a choice who to give the game ball to, it would be tied with Tiki Barber and Jay Feely. Jay feely made all but one of his 6 field goals attempted, making 5 field goals on the day. Tiki Barber passed 200 yards rushing, thanks to good blocking by the rest of the offense to lead the way.

Schedule coming up! :

week 9: 49ers Away
week 10- Vikings Home
week 11- Eagles Home

Wellington Mara: Wellington Mara has been with the Giants since he was ballboy when he was 9 years old. He co-owned the Giants at age 14.
