The Mets on saturday shut out the Detroit Tigers to end their four game skid, 3-0. The game was a first of a three game series in Detroit, where the Mets are playing their second interleague series of the season.
Delgado had a nice monster Homer, along with Wright, which only one of those ended up to be all the Mets needed.
Jorge Sosa keeps on rolling. He is the only Met in history to get six wins in his first seven starts, as he is 6-1 with a 2.64.
Delgado and David Wright are on fire with the Mets. Not just because they’ve been hitting or fielding well, which they both have been doing, but also they both have a home run in two consecutive games, all four homers have been solo.
Billy Wagner’s slider looked NASTY in the ninth inning, wow. Guys were swinging at everything. Maybe it’s b/c they’re not in the NL and they’re not used to hitting vs. Wagner. I don’t know, but Wagner looked real sharp last night, as usual (except for the other night, where he blew his first save since August of 2006).
Tonight at 7, the Mets and Tigers square off again in game two of a three game set.
